About me/short biography
Susana Rocha | She/hers
I am a creative producer, cultural mediator and communicator, born in Vila Maior and currently residing in Lisbon. I have a master's degree in Creative Production from DAS Graduate School in Amsterdam (2023) - that I followed with a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. I also have a Master's degree in Artistic Studies - Theatre from the University of Coimbra (2012) and a degree in Journalism (University of Coimbra, 2010).
My professional path includes Portugal, Belgium and the Netherlands, collaborating with organisations such as Teathre O Bando, Binaural/Nodar, Amarelo Silvestre (Portugal), Film Fest Gent and Timelab Gent (Belgium) and the Amsterdam Theatre and Dance Academy, part of the University of the Arts of Amsterdam (Netherlands). My experience covers production, international mediation and the development of cultural strategies focused on sustainability and community involvement.
My work is deeply rooted in issues of territory, migration and listening. I see production as an artistic and political act — focused on building lasting and sustainable relationships, based on empathy, critical thinking and reciprocity, both with people and with the place.
